The Social Sculpture
Organize an event without a program. Each participant is both artist and spectator.
Organize an event where each participant is both artist and spectator at the same time. No hierarchy, no program. The rules: we're here, we do something together, we don't know what in advance.
Instructions
- Invite between three and ten people. Tell them only: "Let's meet, we'll do something together. I don't know what yet."
- Gather them in a space... at your place, in a park, a courtyard. Prepare nothing. No specific material.
- When everyone is there, ask one question: "What do we do?" Let it emerge.
- Do what emerges. Even if it's banal, even if it's weird, even if it's nothing.
- Document what happened... video, photos, collective text. Each person uploads their trace to the site.
Variants
Impose a single material constraint... "There's only one A4 sheet of paper and a pen."
Do it with strangers.
