Constraint n°002

Opalka Counter

Every morning, write by hand the number of days you have lived.

Instructions

  1. Upon waking, calculate the number of days you have lived since your birth. (Your age in years × 365, plus days since your last birthday, plus leap years if you are meticulous.)
  2. Take a pen or marker. Write this number on your body... arm, wrist, palm, nape. Wherever you want. Legibly.
  3. Photograph the number on your body. Same framing each day if you repeat the constraint.
  4. Don't wash that part of your body before noon. Let the number exist on you.
  5. Post the photo on the site. If you continue for several days, the photos form a series: you see the number grow.

Variants

Instead, write the number of days you have left to live if you reach average life expectancy. Watch this number decrease.

Ask someone else to write the number on you.
