The Private Concert
Play music for just one person. In person. Just for them.
Play, sing, or perform a piece of music for one single person. Not a crowd, not a recording. One person, one performance.
Instructions
- Choose a piece of music you can play, sing, or hum. Something that matters to you.
- Choose one person. Someone close or a stranger, it doesn't matter.
- Arrange a moment alone with this person. Explain that you're going to play something for them.
- Play. Look at them. Don't apologize for mistakes.
- After the performance, note both your reactions. Write about what a private concert feels like.
Variants
Ask the person to perform something for you in return. An exchange of private concerts.
Play the same piece for a different person each day for a week.
