The Surprise Call
Call someone just to say something kind. No reason. No preamble.
Call someone. Not to ask for something, not to plan something. Just to tell them something kind. Hang up after.
Instructions
- Think of someone. Not necessarily the closest person. Someone who wouldn't expect it.
- Call them. No text first. A call.
- When they answer, say something kind. Specific. 'I was thinking about you and I wanted to tell you that...'
- Don't turn it into a long conversation unless they want to. Say what you have to say, then say goodbye.
- Write three lines about what it felt like. Post on the site.
Variants
Do it every day for a week. Seven calls, seven people, seven kind words.
Call a wrong number on purpose. Say something kind to whoever answers.
