Constraint n°103
The Body Journal
Write about your body every day for a week. Not what you think... what you feel.
Every day for a week, write a short text about what your body feels. Not your emotions, not your thoughts. Physical sensations only.
Instructions
- Every morning or evening, sit for five minutes. Scan your body from head to toe.
- Write what you feel physically. 'Tension in the left shoulder. Cold feet. Heavy stomach.' Precise, factual.
- Don't interpret. Don't write 'I'm stressed.' Write 'jaw clenched, tight breathing.'
- Do this every day for seven days.
- After the week, read all seven entries. Write a summary: what does your body say about your week?
Variants
Do the same but at three different times each day. Morning, noon, evening.
Write the body journal of someone you live with, by observing them. Then compare with their own account.
