The Polyrhythm of Objects
Create percussion by tapping different everyday objects with a specific rhythm.
Select 5-7 everyday objects (fork, glass, chair, etc.). Create a rhythm for each and play them together in layered form.
Instructions
- Gather 5-7 objects from your home that sound different.
- Tap them to explore their respective sounds.
- Assign a simple rhythm to each (fast, slow, syncopated).
- Play them together in layered form... human percussion.
- Record your polyrhythm. Share the audio and a video on the site.
Variants
Teach the rhythm to someone else. Play together.
